On November 27th, Thistle sat down with Nancy Manahan and Becky Bohan to learn more about their lives in an intentional women’s community in Florida.

Nancy Manahan is a retired California and Minnesota college English teacher whose books include Lesbian Nuns: Breaking Silence and On My Honor: Lesbians Reflect on Their Scouting Experience. She and her wife, Becky Bohan, co-authored the award-winning Living Consciously, Dying Gracefully: A Journey with Cancer and Beyond.

Becky Bohan is a retired small business owner. She writes fiction, including A Light on Altered Land, which was a finalist for a 2020 Goldie award from the Golden Crown Literary Society. Her latest novel, The Santorini Setup, is coming out in February 2022. She and Nancy live in Carefree, a women’s community in North Fort Myers, Florida.
